Yesterday (2 October), it was reported that a Standard 4 student was found unconscious in a toilet cubicle at his primary school in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, on Wednesday (1 October) and was subsequently pronounced dead. This marked the second death at the school in the span of a week.

According to a report by Sinar Harian, the autopsy results on the Standard 4 student have confirmed that the cause of death was pressure to the neck. Negeri Sembilan Police Chief, Datuk Alzafny Ahmad, shared this while adding that no other injuries were found on the victim’s body.

“A thorough investigation is underway, including identifying the cause of the action before the incident, and the circumstances of when the victim was found in the toilet,”

“The police urge that space be given to conduct the investigation transparently and by taking into account the sensitivity of children who are protected under the provisions of the Children Act 2001, since the investigation also involves child witnesses,” he said.

The body of the victim has since been buried at the Forest Heights Islamic Cemetery last night (2 October).

Do stay tuned for more updates.
