Passerby Spots Floating Corpse in Putrajaya Lake, PDRM Reveals Victim Was 17yo Boy

The body of a teenage boy was discovered in a lake in Putrajaya earlier today (August 11).

Putrajaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Aidi Sham Mohamed, said a passerby spotted the victim’s body floating in the water at around 7:50 AM.

The passerby swam into the lake to recover the body

According to BERNAMA, upon spotting the body the individual swam into the lake, pulled it to shore and immediately alerted the authorities for help.

Aidi Sham said investigations revealed the deceased was a 17-year-old boy.

“Preliminary investigations have shown that there is no criminal element involved in this case,” he added.

The exact cause of death has yet to be determined

Aidi Sham said the case is currently being treated as a sudden death (SDR).

He added that the body has been sent to Putrajaya Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.
