There are certain things that some people do to reserve a parking spot illegally – by human parking or by putting an item at the spot. In this case, a parking spot in Sabah was reserved illegally with a chair but it comes with an intimidation.
The employees at a bakery cafe in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah recently placed a chair at a parking spot in front of the premise, and it had a note attached to the chair.
“Do not move this chair! Or else your car will be smashed!”
It was to protect the public cars
The owner of the bakery has since responded to the matter via a Facebook post and admitted to the mistake, as well as apologising for the matter. However, he also revealed that there has been a misunderstanding between him and the employees when it comes to reserving the parking.
On the day when the chair was placed outside, they wanted to put up the signboard, and to prevent any damage to the public cars, the owner asked the employees to put a chair outside its premise and remind the public about possible accidents.
The note, unfortunately, was taken out of context.
“I take full responsibility of this, and I assure you that I have no intention to cause any disappointment or inconvenience.”
The owner also said they will be more careful in future communication to avoid more misunderstandings like the recent issue. The authorities also paid the bakery café a visit to investigate the matter.
However, an apology on social media is not the only solution from the bakery’s side. As another token of apology, the owner has decided to grant a 20% off on all items, which will last until next Tuesday (May 9). Folks in Sabah, this is perhaps your best chance to give the bakery a try if you haven’t.
In the Facebook post, the owner also thanked those who made the issue viral.
“Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.”
Saya ingin meminta maaf atas sebarang kekeliruan yang disebabkan oleh tanda larangan meletak kenderaan di kawasan depan…

Miscommunications do happen at times, and messages that are taken out of context can bring unimaginable consequences. Regardless, kudos to the team for acknowledging and apologising for their blunders!
