A few weeks ago, Malaysian internet celebrity chef, Khairul Aming, started a 9-part cooking and exploring series in New Zealand. He’s currently at episode 4!

In the time that he’s made 4 episodes, Khairul Aming has managed to garner fans in New Zealand. Among them is New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Christopher Luxon.

Taking to his X page, Khairul Aming showcased a video where he recently got to meet Luxon and even taught the New Zealand Prime Minister how to make some Malaysian breakfast staples!

He wrote, “Today (September 3), myself and the Prime Minister of New Zealand got to meet up as a sign of appreciation from New Zealand for the cooking videos I’ve done there.”

“I took the opportunity to introduce Malaysian breakfast foods to him while we exchanged thoughts on the tourism exchange between Malaysia and New Zealand, trade exports of Halal meat and dairy products, nature preservation and the potential export of local SME products to New Zealand.”

Christopher Luxon is currently in Malaysia for his first diplomatic visit here since his appointment as Prime Minister of New Zealand in November 2023.

Feeling proud of how far he has come in his now-thriving career, Khairul Aming also urged people to take a leap of faith in themselves.

“8 years ago, I filmed my first cooking video while sitting on the floor. Today, I have the privilege of sitting next to the Prime Minister of a renowned nation. Keep hustling, you’ll be amazed at where life can take you,” he added.
