Same-sex marriages have been a major debate throughout the whole world since the beginning of time. However, in recent times, same-sex couples have been winning the war against discrimination and receiving rights.

Of course, these rights would not stop the people who disagree with ‘unnatural’ couples.

Just recently, pictures of a same-sex couple’s marriage went viral on Facebook. In a post by The Philippine Pageantry, the page shared about 30 pictures of the ceremony.

The page wrote,

“According to the guests, it had been raining the whole afternoon in Boracay but it stopped just in time for the ceremony.

“It is heartwarming to see supportive family members from both sides. Congratulations again to the lovely couple Francis & Christian!”

The pictures proved that family members from both parties were in full support of the couple as they all wore clothes in a matching theme and attended the ceremony with smiles.

A huge amount of netizens from all the around the world were touched by the heartfelt union.

“Congratulations to the beautiful couple. God taught us to love everyone and we should practice God’s teachings. #LoveWins”

“The couple is so good looking. Congratulations on your marriage and may you two be blessed forever. #LoveWins.”

Undoubtedly, there were also many netizens who were very vocal about their opposition towards the couple. Many cited religion to defend their stance and went on to bash the couple.

“Remember, God created man and woman only. This is against the will of God.”

“Did you know that gay and lesbian people create diseases? God created woman for man. Man for woman.”

Ugh, I think the only thing I’m upset about is how good looking they are but they will never be mine… :`(

One particular netizen brought up how interracial marriage was ‘illegal’ and was highly persecuted in the past and how we are making the same mistake now as humans did last time.

“You know, once upon a time there was an age where people were disgusted with the idea of interracial marriage, often citing ridiculous sources and even using religion to justify it.

“But now we look at those hatred filled people with disgust and raised eyebrows.

“Keep fighting guys for there will be a time in the future where children will learn and be disgusted upon realizing there was a time where the LGBT community had to fight for basic human rights.”

Well, if they aren’t bothering your life, then don’t bother theirs either!

Congratulations to Francis and Christian!
