Floods are the most common and often, the most destructive type of natural disaster.

For us city folk, floods often happen after periods of heavy rain, and if you live in an area that is prone to flooding, preparing for a flood should be part of your preparedness plan.

Here are some tips you can take to lessen the impact of floods on your property and belongings, as shared by @shop withmelur on Twitter.

A flood car bag can help ensure your car is zipped up and anchored down, helping you avoid getting severe water damage.

Apart from the usual power bank, survival kits, waterproof torchlights, emergency blankets and the ever handy Swiss Army knife, all these items are readily available via any online stores of your choice.
