In a Facebook statement yesterday (18 March 2023), Malaysian airline company MYAirline has apologised and explained the cause of recent flight delays and cancellations.

“We would like to be upfront and transparent about the flight delays and cancellations that have occurred since March 14th, as well as those that may occur in the coming days which will impact our ability to deliver our on-time departure (OTP) commitment for our flights,” it said.

The company added that they sees customer safety and reliability as the top priority.

MYAirline explained that the delays are caused by, “Technical issues related to our spare aircraft (which is the aircraft dedicated to minimising the impact on customers and supports our commitment to on-time performance, a delay with the entry of our (new) aircraft – which are being worked on by our lessor.”

The airline also added that various teams are working around the clock to resolve the problem.

All the impacted flights will be posted on MYAirline’s website under “Flight Status” and SMS and email notifications with the new departure times and options available will be sent out. Those who require further assistance can also contact the live chat agent on its website or email customercare@myairline.my.

“We highly value transparency with our customers, and we wish to be upfront. We expect normal service to resume by next week. All of you, and our customers are important to us, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for your understanding,” the statement concluded.
