Hundreds of Malaysians started to queue outside the Apple store in KL Mall as early as 3 am yesterday (September 20) to celebrate the launch of iPhone 16.

Apple enthusiasts didn’t want to miss the opportunity to become among the 1st to get their hands on the brand-new iPhone 16, which is now sold starting at RM3,999, depending on the variations.

According to a report by Nanyang Siang Pau, the crowds grew bigger as of 5 am yesterday as people flocked to the Apple store, but despite the massive crowd, the scene was still under control.

The Apple store in Malaysia opens at 10 am every day, but with the release of the long-awaited iPhone 16, the store started allowing customers in as early as 8 am.

This is the first time Malaysia has been included in the first batch of countries that make the latest device available for purchase. Buyers can purchase it directly at the store or online.

Despite Malaysians’ spirit to line up early, a Vietnamese man became the lucky number 1 to own an iPhone 16 in Malaysia.

The Apple fans at the front of the line were a 10-member team from Vietnam. In 2022, a man from KL became the 1st to own an iPhone 14 in Singapore after waiting in line since 6 am.

Fellow Apple lovers, have you tried the latest device? Were you in the queue yesterday?
