The man who went missing in Georgetown, Penang after meeting an alleged customer who wanted to buy his iPhone has been found!

The victim, Danial Haikal made it out alive from whenever he was “trapped” after he was rescued by a lorry driver who found him. While Haikal is now safe and sound by the side of his family, he is, unfortunately, too traumatised to explain what actually happened to him in Penang.

Haikal made it home yesterday evening (October 7) but not in the best condition, according to her aunt, Eyraswan Ramadhan, who shared some details via her Instagram post.

“He suffers injuries on his face and body but thank God he’s safe.”

On the same day, Eyraswan also brought Haikal to the police station to assist them in the investigation. In her post, she thanked everyone who had helped her in sharing the viral news, as well as the police who assisted her in the search for her nephew.

Netizens were also happy for the family now that Haikal was back home safe, and many of them were eager to find out what happened back in Penang and hoped that Eyraswan would soon update everyone about the truth.

To quickly recap, Haikal had gone to Penang to meet an alleged customer who showed interest in buying his iPhone. Not long after, he video-called his fiance and pleaded for help while crying, but his phone died before he could reveal his location.

Regardless, it’s time for Haikal to heal now from the trauma. In the meantime, if you really must meet a stranger personally for cash on delivery purposes, always meet in public places where the crowds may come in handy.
