Taking to TikTok, this netizen shared a video of what it is like to teach at an elementary school in the US.
Along with the caption, “Wouldn’t it be better if I was to teach at an elementary school in the US”, the video that followed was a stark reminder that the grass is not always green on the other side.
Beginning his video with what could have been his last day as a teacher in Malaysia, the video was immediately replaced with the realities he was made to face at an elementary school he taught.
While recording scenes from his messy classroom, he wrote, “Kids helped me rearrange the classroom.”
Then, he captured a video of one kid flipping the bird behind the covers.
“He said he wanted peace.”
In another clip, he showed deep scratches from kids who threw tantrums in the classroom.
“This kid wanted to play hide and seek. This other kid played a 1.5km game of tag,” he shared.
During nursery ryhmes, one student could be heard saying, “Don’t f***** talk to me. Don’t f***** talk to me.”
