First, it was mouldy leather goods. Then, it was mouldy cinema seats. Now, we have mouldy wooden cooking spoons for sale. At this point, we’re left wondering what other mouldy things are our fellow Malaysians going to find, once all the shops across the country reopen!

In the most recent instance of ‘mould-growing-on-things-during-MCO’, a local shopper who was browsing through home wares in preparation to bake cookies for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations stumbled on a pretty unsightly scene that would have probably left many stomachs churning.

Reaching out to the concerned netizen, who wishes to remain anonymous, WORLD OF BUZZ was told that the wooden spoons were found in a store in Klang,

From what we can see in the images, the wooden spoons appear to have a fine layer of green and white mould that had taken up residence on the surface of the wood. In fact, no spoon appears to be spared, as it appears that wooden spoons tucked in the back also show signs of mould growth.

But it is unclear if the mould seen here on the wooden spoons have already taken root, or have merely covered the surface of the spoon itself.

The concerned netizen also adds that staff who are working at the shop should have made an effort to ensure that their products were thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to reopening their business, so that instances like these can be avoided.

We have to say given the current circumstances regarding public health, we have to agree!
