A Malaysian woman had to receive 5 stitches on her head after she was hit by a bicycle that was thrown from the 12th floor of the Padang Hiliran People’s Housing Program (PPR) flat in Kuala Terengganu yesterday (March 25).

According to a report by Harian Metro, this incident took place when 43-year-old Azuraini Yazid, who lives on the 9th floor of the PPR, had gone downstairs to take out the rubbish at around 4pm.

“However, my wife suddenly collapsed and became unconscious, while her head was covered in blood, after being hit by a bicycle thrown from the 12th floor. I rushed home after receiving a call from my child informing me that my wife was injured,” her husband, 48-year-old Jusri Ibrahim, said.

He went on to share that his wife received emergency treatment by a medical team before being taken to a hospital for further medical assistance, and that he has spoken to the bicycle’s owner.

“My wife was sent to the emergency unit at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) and received 5 stitches on her head. Her condition is reported to be stable,”

“We have met with the owner of the bicycle and they claimed that their son’s bicycle, which was outside their house, was thrown by another individual.”

Azuraini has been discharged while Jusri has filed a police report.

The Kuala Terengganu District Police Headquarters Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Azli Mohd Noor, shared that an investigation has been opened for further action.

“We have also recorded a conversation with an individual, who is also a resident of the PPR, who admitted that the bicycle belonged to them but did not throw the bicycle (from the building). The results of the conversation found that the bicycle thrown by an unknown individual was left outside the residence by its owner,” he said.

Azli added that investigations into this incident are still ongoing, and that the police will identify the irresponsible party who threw the bicycle from the building.

Azuraini has since been discharged from the hospital and allowed to return home.
