Toxicity, unfortunately, does not only happen in a relationship. If you’re lucky enough to escape the politic at work, a toxic colleague or employer might just make things equally bad, or worse.

Just recently, in her Twitter post, Edd shared her experience of dealing with a toxic manager in the past. Edd had a random Q&A session on Instagram, and she shared the screenshot of a netizen who asked her for an elaboration on a toxic environment at the workplace. This instantly reminded Edd of a toxic manager that she had to deal with for a few months.

Vulgarities all day, err day

Edd said that in the past, she had a manager who used to call and shout at her using swear words and vulgarities, such as anj*ng, ba*i, and stupid. No one likes and deserves to be addressed in such a manner.

One fine day, the manager needed Edd’s help but unfortunately, that still did not prompt the manager to be polite.

“He called me & asked me to pick him up using my car because he had a flat tyre.”

Edd agreed, but she was slightly late because she had some trouble finding the route to his house, which did not sit well with the manager.

“He called me stupid. I resigned the next day.”

It’s admirable that Edd managed to soldier through those months, but it wasn’t easy. There were times when she cried at her desk, and she initially thought she was weak for doing so.

“Now that I think about it, no employees should be treated that way!”

“He was speechless when I told him about the toxicity”

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Edd said that she was working as a graphic designer back then in late 2019. Edd said that the manager did ask her about the resignation, to which she told him,

“I cannot tolerate rudeness and vulgarities.”

The manager looked at her and said nothing.

Edd also told WORLD OF BUZZ that she resigned on the same day when she was given her confirmation letter. After tendering her resignation letter, Edd served a period notice of 24 hours.

There is a fine line between being strict and being rude. To quote Edd, no employees deserve to be treated that way, and addressing your employees with swear words or vulgarities is truly uncalled for. Have you ever dealt with a rude employer in your current or previous workplace?
