The race to beat the highest price of Nasi Kandar continues and this time, yet another Malaysian customer broke the record by paying a whopping RM256 for a FULL plate of Nasi Kandar.
Previously, a customer paid RM218 for his Nasi Kandar at a popular eatery in Penang – Nasi Kandar Sulaiman, making it the restaurant’s most expensive Nasi Kandar to-date. The RM256 Nasi Kandar, however, took place at a different restaurant – Nasi Kandar Pelita in Chai Leng Park, Penang, as revealed via its TikTok post, @nasikandarpelitaofficial.
The Malaysian content creator reached the place on a rainy night, perfect timing for a good hot plate of Nasi Kandar. He purposely asked the worker to make it an RM256 dish without ordering any specific dishes, and here’s what he got on his plate.
- Chicken
- Lamb Shank
- Squid
- Curry crab and fish
- Prawns
- Other Seafood
- Lamb’s gut
- Vegetables with mixed gravy
We stand corrected. It was not only a full plate of Nasi Kandar but the customer had to separate his dishes on 2 different plates, and he even had to request for an extra plate to isolate the mountain of dishes on his plate.
He took his sweet time in savouring the Nasi Kandar, and couldn’t stop praising how delicious the dishes were, especially the “juicy chicken”, and the prawns as big as the size of his palm.
“RM250. It’s worth it.”
Let’s just keep in mind that even if you’re not on a journey to beat the highest prices of Nasi Kandar, it’s wise to brace yourself to pay an uncertain amount for Nasi Kandar. Different places might charge you with different prices.
Most importantly, do remember to rehydrate after the scrumptious meal!

The previous champion has been beaten. Shall we wait for the one who will break the RM256 Nasi Kandar record, possibly with over RM300 to beat the current “King?”
