When you’re at an ATM, a couple of things that you definitely need to remember is your debit card and the cash you withdraw.

Recently, a Twitter user took to the platform to track down an ATM user who had withdrawn cash but left it at the ATM in a rush.

In the post by Huzaimi, he shared how he noticed that someone had gone to the ATM by MRT Bukit Bintang at around 9:40pm on February 18, but had forgotten to take the money with them.

“It’s quite an amount and it was left at the machine when I approached it to withdraw my money. Money’s with me and the number at ATM is not reachable.”

He went on to share how he plans to send it to the authorities ASAP but decided to take it to Twitter in hopes of getting connected with the person.

“I’d verify the amount first before agreeing to pass the money,” he added.

Going to the authorities

In a follow up tweet, Huzaimi shared that the people behind at RapidKL have since gotten in touch with him and stated that they will be checking the CCTV footage.

However, less than 24 hours before he first reported it, Huzaimi shares that his tweet has since captured the attention of the ATM user who had personally messaged him.

In a screenshot of the messages, the ATM user had accurately stated how much money they withdrew and what had happened.

The ATM user then went on to share a screenshot of their bank transactions to further prove to Huzaimi that they did withdraw the said amount.

“UPDATEEEEE: I found the person! They gave me their transaction details too from their online banking account. Thank you everyoneeeee, social media can do wonderssss.”

Thankfully the cash was returned to its rightful owner.
