Being bilingual has been proven to enhance a person’s multitasking skills, attention span, problem-solving abilities, and even creative thinking. Having the ability to speak two or more languages brings a range of benefits especially when it comes to ordering food.

In a recent TikTok post by user @lmk.88, she shared a moment when Masitah (the mother), was seen ordering food. However, what caught the attention of many netizens was that she placed the order in Tamil.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Lyna shared that her paternal grandparents were from India. She went on to explain how Mahsita faced challenges in communicating with her in-laws in Tamil, especially when they all lived together.

Lyna then revealed how her mother had learnt Tamil from her grandmother overtime. She also mentioned that if anyone were to ask what’s Mahsita’s mother tongue, she wouldn’t know how to answer the question considering her family speaks Tamil, English and Malay at home.

“My mother had difficulty in communicating with my grandparents in Tamil especially when my grandmother was staying with us at the time. So that’s when she decided to learn to speak Tamil.”

Netizens quickly filled the comment section to share their thoughts on the video.
