Scammers are typically known for masquerading in someone else’s identity when preying on others’ fortunes. However, in this case, a Malaysian MIGHT have just encountered someone who stole his money without the case of identity theft.
Recently, Chris reached out to WORLD OF BUZZ and shared an incident that happened to a friend of his who happened to be a victim of a scam. He said that a girl from Johor Bahru has been using sex services to scam her victims allegedly using her very own identity.
“My friend is 100% sure that’s her real picture. He has seen her on Instagram Live and her social media links on her IG are her own.”
In a series of screenshots that were shared with WORLD OF BUZZ, Chris’s friend can be seen reaching out to the girl, allegedly named Joey who later replied to him with the rates of her service – RM250 for 2 hours which includes a room and condom.
As his friend is from KL, Joey claimed that she had no problem coming down to the city after he made the payment. Unfortunately, that was not what happened.
After transferring RM250 to Joey, Chris’s friend reached out again to check on it, only to learn that he has been blocked by Joey.
This time, he tried reaching out to Joey via another account, presumably without the latter knowing about his identity. He offered an amount of RM350 which he would pay her when they meet in real life, but Joey rejected.
He then told her about the risk of the latter going MIA if the money was transferred online.
“So do you want it or not? I don’t care,” Joey said.
Chris also said that while RM250 may not be a big amount to some people, he refused for others to fall prey to a similar scam. He also believed that many people have been a victim of Joey in the past but lack the guts to confess and spread awareness about it.
“I’m not getting my money back but at least others will know about Joey and her scam,” he said.
In another screenshot, it is also revealed that Joey has a group in Telegram with thousands of members.
