As more people turn to online ordering, restaurants have come to recognise the importance of offering a reliable, smooth, and efficient online ordering system. But sometimes, it’s the customers who end up causing problems.

In a recent post that’s been making the rounds on X, user @MALAYSIAVIRALLL has shared an incident that occurred about a customer the made a food order online.

According to the post, the customer appeared to have taken his anger out in the app, mentioning he wants to cancel the order because they didn’t follow his request to separate the gravy from his food.

He goes on to make some strong comments, suggesting that if the restaurant doesn’t have a particular chicken part a customer asks for, it’s better to give them a call and inform them.

The unhappy customer even went ahead and canceled the order, even though the food rider told him the food was ready and on the way.

This left the delivery person with a bag full of food, making the situation more complicated, especially since the customer had opted to pay in cash.

The overall bill came to RM90, but it remained unpaid as the customer declined to settle it, and the customer requested the rider’s account number, with the intention to transfer the money.

“Don’t customers like that feel worried when they’re rude to the person preparing their food? The cooks might just respond by doing something like spitting in the food.”

“When customers cancel orders at the very last minute, it puts the food riders in a difficult position as they end up covering the costs. The riders would then have to contact customer service to report the unpaid order, leading to the customer receiving a refund within 5-7 working days.”
