Fasting can really put things into perspective and keep us grounded. It’s a powerful way to remind ourselves of our humanity and avoid getting too carried away with indulgence.
User @tcc_dingwonnnn took to his TikTok to share his Ramadan experience. The 35-year-old man from Selangor decided to challenge himself by fasting throughout the holy month.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, @tcc_dingwonnnn revealed that he works mostly with Muslim colleagues, and his superior, Nigel, who is a non-Muslim, has been fasting for 2 years.
“Fasting provides a valuable opportunity to immerse myself in their culture and traditions while also testing my own limits in a supportive atmosphere. Additionally, breaking the fast together during iftar can foster stronger bonds and create memorable shared experiences.”
Because of that, he naturally wanted to be supportive of his colleagues and also take it as a challenge. The caption of the video reads,
“My first time fasting, definitely need to vlog this. It’s a challenging month for me, hopefully I can succeed this month.”
“Wish me luck!”
@tcc_dingwonnnn also mentioned that it was his 1st time fasting and expressed his goal to complete the entire month.
In the video, he shares his perspective from suhoor all the way to the breaking of the fast. He mentions that overall, it’s been a positive experience, although the most challenging aspect of fasting for him is not being able to drink. Other than that, he finds everything else smooth sailing.
He added,
“To all my non-Muslim friends who are thinking about fasting this month, why not give it a try and join our Muslim workmates and friends on this journey? You might discover something new and meaningful along the way!”
