A majority of the time, people use social media for their own personal gain, which often happens through doing challenges and dances in hopes of attracting more followers.

But, every once in a while, there are those who utilise social media for the greater good.

An example of this is Malaysian celebrity chef and host, Anis Nabilah, who took to her Instagram account to showcase a differently-abled local man she had met and given a ride to. She used her posting to praise and highlight the well-mannered man, Prakash, and his SPM tutoring business!

She wrote, “Last Thursday, I ended work very late and then went to a mamak for supper. When I got there, I saw a man who is visually-impaired, who had just finished his meal and was waiting for a e-hailing ride by the side of the road to head back.”

After observing the man, who was still waiting for his ride by the time she finished her food, she decided to approach the man to see if he was okay.

“His name is Prakash and he was waiting for his e-hailing ride for a very long time, maybe because it was late as it was almost 1am. So, I offered to send him home and as I was doing that, I had a chat with him. He’s so polite, soft-spoken and very articulate,”

“Prakash says that he teaches tuition classes for SPM students. As of now, he has 2 students when last year, he had 4. So, he’s looking for whoever that wants to study with him,” she shared.

Prakash went on to tell Anis that many had suggested he promote himself through content creation for social media.

Though, unfortunately, he requires help to do so and many had attempted to charge him high prices for their video recording and editing services, which is something he cannot afford.

“So, I asked him if it was okay for me to record him and share on my account. Here is the video where Prakash shared his contact number. So, if anyone is interested, please contact him,”

“I’m so happy I met him, he showed true kindness, patience and resilience. He’s overall an amazing guy and I pray for Allah to ease everything for him. Please share this video and help Prakash to get more students!” she added.

The fruits of her kindness!

In a comment to her post, Anis explained that Prakash has since gotten job offers because of her post about him going viral!

“Prakash just called me and said that his father called him to let him know that he’s featured on a local Tamil newspaper because of this post! (I didn’t tell him what I do for a living so he was surprised),”

“He also told me someone from a local bank offered him a job! MashaAllah! He’s so happy and grateful that people are sharing his story. Thank you everyone for sharing! You guys are the best,” she wrote.

If you’re interested in taking on Prakash as an SPM tutor, you can contact him at 010-5418178.

We’re truly appreciative of Anis Nabilah, for using her platform for the greater good of helping others.
