A petrol station worker is receiving praise from an ambulance driver after the former decided to make an impromptu donation to the latter.
As shared on the Saja Viral Facebook page, the ambulance driver, Mat Yoe, recounted how he noticed a motorcyclist next to him at a traffic light, counting RM5 bills. Little did he know that the man was counting his money to make a donation.
He wrote, “Earlier, when I was driving the ambulance, I noticed this guy to the left of the ambulance, counting RM5 bills. At that time, we were stopped at a traffic light. When the light turned green, I went on driving as usual. When we reached the next traffic light, the guy stopped at my driver’s side (of the ambulance) and knocked on my window.”
“I lowered my window. He handed me four RM5 bills, amounting to RM20. I immediately asked him what the money was for. He told me that he was donating the money to me to use on petrol for the ambulance.”
The man’s gesture stunned Mat Yoe into silence.
He’s been wanting to donate for a while!
Based on the motorcyclist’s uniform, Mat Yoe figured out that the motorcyclist worked at a petrol station and successfully tracked the man down. It turns out that the motorcyclist, named Shahrul, donated the money to contribute to Mat Yoe’s free ambulance initiative.
“After completing my duties of transporting a patient, I went to the petrol station nearest to where I work. My guess was correct. He works there. I asked for his phone number from his colleagues,”
“I sent him a WhatsApp to say thank you. I promised to treat him to a meal. He truly is a special individual. Thank you for donating petrol money to our ambulance. He found out about our free ambulance services from my Facebook page, and has been determined to contribute to our organisation. Thank you, Shahrul,” he added.
It’s truly amazing to see how selfless people can be when it comes to contributing to good causes.
