The Ministry of Health will be investigating a case of forgery after a doctor from a private clinic in Rawang discovered that fake Covid-19 test results were being issued under his name and the name of the clinic.

Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham said that his department would be working with PDRM and the Ministry of Human Resources to ensure that the matter is taken care of.

“The ministry thanks Dr N Sathia Prakash for his action in making a police report on the matter,” he said at a press conference yesterday (16 December).

“PDRM has strong intel to investigate the matter.”

According to Berita Harian, Dr Sathia had lodged a police report after discovering that the Covid-19 tests that were issued by the clinic had been tampered with.

Dr Sathia said that he found 20 fake Covid-19 test results which were for employees from outsourced companies in the public and private sectors. It is understood that the companies had apparently meddled with the original documents by adding the details of those who did not take the Covid-19 test.

Dr Noor Hisham said the ministry has engaged with private laboratories used to conduct tests for the ministry to undergo periodic audits to ensure that tests were carried out to meet standards.

“We can use our public health laboratory information system (SIMKA) to identify if there are cases that have been falsified,” he said.

He added that such forgery is an offence under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1998 (Act 342) and action will be taken against those involved.

Speaking to Dr Sathia Prakash from Klinik SP Care to clarify on the matter, he told WORLD OF BUZZ that the report was lodged in June 2020 after he discovered that the names on the Covid-19 test results were altered.

The picture below shows the original test results of ‘Ahshad Zeeshan’ that was issued by Dr Sathia under Klinik SP Care.

The second picture below shows the fake Covid-19 results, with the name altered to ‘Shan Ansar’ and falsely issued under Dr Sathia’s name.

Forged

Dr Sathia told WORLD OF BUZZ that Klinik SP Care has since increased their security using a QR code system to ensure that forgery cases like this does not happen again.

Meanwhile, the results of the investigation by the Ministry of Health is still underway.
