Our local airlines have earned plenty of praise for both their exceptional service as well as their amazing staff members.

Recently, social media users praised the smooth landing of the pilots of a Malaysia Airlines flight.

The pilots were commended for the way they handled a challenging approach to London’s Heathrow Airport in the midst of a storm known as Storm Darragh, hitting the United Kingdom.

Aviation spotter channel Big Jet TV shared a video of the landing on the True Malaysia Airlines Fans Facebook group. The video showed a Malaysia Airlines Airbus A350-900 battling turbulence caused by strong crosswinds from Storm Darragh.

Despite the tough situation, the pilots executed what appeared to be a pretty smooth landing. The plane touched down in a more diagonal position, known as a “crabbing” technique, instead of the usual straight-on manoeuvre.

Netizens from all around the world were full of praise for the pilots.
