Out of fear of 3 thieves trying to rob him, a car owner decided to speed up his vehicle in order to escape the thieves before hitting one of them and causing his death.

This incident took place at about 6:39am on March 19 (Tuesday) in Kuala Kedah, when the car owner was in his vehicle in front of a pharmacy and was suddenly approached by the 3 suspects on 2 motorcycles.

According to a report by Berita Harian, the Kota Setar District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Shukri Mat Akhir shared that a suspect then used a stick to hit the vehicle’s windscreen until it broke.

“Due to fear, the complainant accelerated his car and while trying to escape, he hit one of the suspect’s motorcycles which was in front of him, trying to block him,”

“The 29-year-old suspect is believed to have died at the scene, while his 2 friends fled,” he said.

Efforts are now actively underway to locate the suspects through witnesses that were at the scene.

For the time being, the police have also opened an investigation into the victim of the attempted robbery, for allegedly murdering the suspect.
