Every chocolate lover always dreamt of getting the golden Ticket to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Well, fellow chocolate-loving Malaysians, you might be in for a treat.
Located in Kota Damansara, Selangor, Chocolate Museum Kota Damansara is the first ever chocolate museum in both Malaysia and Asia. This museum which is built on a whopping 1.8ha plot was officially opened in 2014 and already gained over 50,000 visitors in two years.
To make sure visitors have an awesome experience at the museum, the management employed ‘3E’ strategy which stands for ‘educational interactive’, ‘experience chocolate making’, and ‘enjoyable shopping’, Siakap Keli reported.
As such, visitors can expect to have their mind-blown by all the information about chocolate such as its nutritional value and its origin. Other interesting exhibits include the cocoa fruit from Africa and the first chocolate mixer made by Swiss Chocolatier, Rodolphe Lindt.

There’s also a live demonstration on chocolate-making! Nope, no oompa loompas in sight.

Nobody goes to a chocolate museum and goes home empty-handed. The chocolates available at the museum are not the ones Malaysians can get from a supermarket. They’re mostly imported chocolates with unique flavours and fillings.

By the way, did I mention about the chocolate sale for Chinese New Year?
That’s right guys, in conjunction with Chinese New Year, the Chocolate Museum Kota Damansara will be having a sale of up to 50%. That’s every chocolate lover’s dream out there.
The sale is on for 3 days, starting from 20 to 22 January 2017. The museum operating hours are from 9 am to 5 pm daily.
This may not be the chocolate factory that Charlie visited, but at least you don’t need a golden ticket to experience it all!
