But how many of us would go to the extent of faking our own kidnapping just to have a rendezvous with a secret lover?

That’s what this 29-year-old man from Sibu did, according to Oriental Daily. The man reportedly called his manager last Friday and informed him that he was kidnapped but cautioned the manager not to make a police report as it would endanger his life.

But the manager was worried and decided to raise the alarm by lodging a police report immediately.

The police took action instantly and formed a special task force to handle the “kidnapping case”. After their investigation, they found that the man’s motorcycle was parked at a long-distance bus terminal. The police checked on the bus station’s CCTV and saw the man boarding a bus headed to Bintulu.

On Sunday morning around 1.00am, the police found the man in a hospital, suffering from facial injuries. But as they cross-examined him, they discovered that the whole kidnapping act was just a ruse, as he wanted to meet his mistress and went to Bintulu to meet her.

The police have since arrested the man and will be charging him.

Is being kidnapped seriously the best story that he could have come up with?
