The LRT Kelana Jaya Line experienced disruptions earlier this morning (23 February) during peak hours after several trains were temporarily taken out of service due to technical issues.

In a statement, Rapid KL said the train frequency was affected after problems were detected at around 6:01 AM, prompting the temporary withdrawal of the affected trains.

Service on the LRT Kelana Jaya Line disrupted due to technical issues, has now been restored

Rapid KL noted that, although operations on the Kelana Jaya Line were originally scheduled with a three-minute frequency during peak hours, several trains experienced recurring technical issues with the emergency brake system and train control devices.

“To ensure safety remains our top priority, the affected trains were temporarily taken out of service for further inspection,” they explained.

They added that the move was necessary to prioritise passenger safety at all times.

“As a precaution, operations were closely monitored, and schedule adjustments were made from time to time to minimise the impact on passengers,” the statement read.

Rapid KL also mentioned that the disruption had been fully restored by 10:00 AM earlier.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate the patience and cooperation of passengers during this period.”
