The saying “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” is very true in the sense of fashion. Some people might find a certain piece to be beautiful while others might find it unpleasant.

Recently, Louis Vuitton showcased the late Virgil Abloh’s final designs during the Men’s Fall/Winter 2022 show and one of the showstoppers was a bag that resembles a paint can.

The bag is now available online and when we saw the price, we had to do a double take as it costs RM12,400 to own one. At least it’s free shipping.

According to their website, the LV Paint Can (yes, that’s the actual name of the product) is a “wildly creative alternative to a conventional bag.”

“Styled like a real paint can down to the metal handle, this cool collectible is decorated with playful references to Louis Vuitton’s heritage.”

The exterior of the bag is made with cowhide leather and the LV signature monogram covers the entire bag.

Funnily enough, words such as “weather shield”, “quality colour” and “smooth finishing” are also printed on the side of the bag.

Regarding the size, the website mentions that it is “roomy enough to hold 2 phones and other personal items.”

It also comes in the late Virgil Abloh’s signature colours which are purple, orange, red, green, yellow, and blue.

Netizens have mixed reactions

Netizens on their Instagram page were perplexed while some thought that it was brilliant.

So, it all boils down to the question: Would you spend RM12,400 for a bag that looks like a paint can?
