Recently, a viral footage of an alleged KFC worker stepping on chicken wings while wearing boots was making rounds in social media. The disgusting video enraged many netizens as they slammed the worker for his poor work ethics and negligence for cleanliness.
However, this footage has been debunked and who ever slammed KFC and the accused worker should really apologize.
After some investigations, it was found that the footage was dated back to 19 May 2016 as shown in the picture below. So, it was not something that happened recently and it’s safe to assume that someone was trying to turn this footage into a hoax.
Apparently, someone had created the fake story and in the process, framed the Thai KFC worker named Pakpoom. He was a cashier in KFC and claimed that he was never involved in any process of marinating chicken. He then quit his job because he needed to concentrate on his study.
Pakpoom was pissed off when he found out about his picture being used to spread the fake news. The news was even covered internationally!
Frustrated, he immediately made a police report to clear his name. Don’t worry Pakpoom, we know you are innocent now.
With more digging, it was revealed that the disgusting footage was actually recorded at a poultry factory in Poland, where the workers stepped on the chicken to defrost them.
Later on, it was found out that a Thai media company, Matichon Online, was the culprit who started spreading the fake news, according to Moretify.
The fake news got so out of control that Pakpoom received quite a lot of hate directed towards him for the supposedly disgusting act he did. Shame on you Matichon!
So guys, don’t believe everything you see on social media and you may now go back to KFC and enjoy their finger-lickin-good chicken again.
Shockingly, this is not the first time we heard a fake story created from Thailand. Just recently, a Malaysian firefighter fell victim to a fake news when a Thai man claimed that the Malaysian was married to his pet snake because he believed that it was the reincarnation of his dead wife.
