Kepong Member of Parliament, Lim Lip Eng, has made a police report against PAS Deputy President, Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, for allegedly making racist remarks.

According to a report by Sinar Harian, Lim shared that Tuan Ibrahim’s statement is inaccurate, as Tuan Ibrahim said that the use of non-Malay mother tongues can cause suspicion.

“Mr. Ibrahim has stated that, if every race speaks in their own languages, he would have bad assumptions because he does not understand what they are saying. If Chinese people speak Chinese and the Malays do not understand it, there will be bad assumptions,”

“His statement is not only inaccurate but also racist and has the potential to divide the community of various races in this country,” he said after making the police report at the Jinjang police station today (September 13).

He also called for an investigation into this matter to maintain the unity and harmony of the country.

“I ask that the police investigate this statement under the relevant acts, especially Sections 504 and 505 (C) of the Penal Code,” he added.

This comes after Tuan Ibrahim issued a statement about the high level of suspicion among races, stemming from the use of every race’s own language, which causes Malays to think negatively of other races.

He said that the use of one language will be able to reduce negative assumptions among the different races.
