JUST IN: Starting 4 May, Most Businesses Can Resume Operation Following SOP Enforced By Authorities
PM Muhyiddin addressed the nation in conjunction with Labor Day (1st May), at 11am today. Following his live telecast, it was declared that, starting 4th May, almost all industries and businesses would be allowed to re-open with strict adherence to the SOP enforced by authorities and guidelines provided by WHO.
Nonetheless, gathering at large is still not allowed. PM Muhyiddin stressed that businesses or activities that involved the gathering of many or body contact where social distancing is hard to manage will still be off-limits. For example, going to the cinema, karaoke, reflexology centres, theme parks, Ramadan bazaars, carnival sales, conferences or exhibitions is still strictly prohibited.
“From 4th May, most economic sectors can resume work, but must follow the established rules and standard operating procedures,” said the PM.
