In a press conference at the Bersatu Headquarters in PJ today, newly elected Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir revealed that he was the one who prevented Najib from leaving the country.
“It is true that I prevented Najib from leaving the country,” he was reported as saying.
In response to a question asked on whether Najib was blacklisted by the Immigration department due to the pending investigations, Dr. M said,
“There are a lot of complaints against him, all of which have to be investigated.
“If some of the complaints are valid, we have to act quickly because we don’t want to be saddled with extradition from other countries.”
On a question that’s burning on everyone’s mind: how soon will the 1MDB investigations be launched, Dr. M said that several countries involved in the scandal will need to be contacted, while numerous reports will need to be sifted through.
Looks like the skeletons in his closet will be coming out one by one!
