The flash floods have displaced hundreds of thousands of people, who have had to evacuate their homes in search of safety.

Unfortunately for many flood victims, their important documents, such as their ICs and birth certificates, might’ve been left behind.

The Home Minister has recently announced that the National Registration Department (NRD) is offering free replacement of documents such as birth certificates and identification cards (IC) to flood victims who have lost them.

In a post on X, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said NRD staff will set up counters and deploy mobile units to flood-affected areas once the flood season is over to ensure timely services are provided.

“I hope our efforts will, to some extent, assist the affected victims and make their post-flood arrangements easier.”
