“He saved countless lives” – M’sians in Awe of Pakcik in Kelantan Who Donated Blood for 477th Time!

The incredible feat of an elderly man left Malaysians in awe recently after it was revealed that he had donated blood more than 400 times since 1988!

Shared by Derma Darah Kelantan on its social media pages, Malaysians were full of praises for the man, Encik Zulkarnain, lauding him as an unsung hero who helped save countless lives for nearly 4 decades.

 

A pakcik in Kelantan has been donating blood for a whopping 37 years

In the video, Derma Darah Kelantan shows Zulkarnain donating blood for an incredible 477th time with a smile on his face.

The post also showed Zulkarnain’s blood donation record book, which holds records as early as 1988, the first year the pakcik started donating blood.

Derma Darah Kelantan further revealed that Zulkarnain was a permanent apheresis donor at the National Blood Centre of Malaysia and is now residing in Kelantan, hence why he’s donating blood in the state.

Based on his blood donation record book, Zulkarnain had also frequently donated whole blood on top of his apheresis plasma donations.

Malaysians laud Zulkarnain as an unsung hero

In the comments sections across TikTok and Facebook, Malaysians praised and thanked Zulkarnain for his selflessness in consistently donating blood for the past 37 years.

One commenter thanked Zulkarnain and other blood donors in our country, revealing that she was in an accident some 7 months ago and needed 22 bags of blood transfusion and wouldn’t have survived without all the donors’ contributions.

Meanwhile, one commenter lauded Zulkarnain for his immense contribution, stressing that his blood donations have saved hundreds of lives.

Besides that, one Malaysian thanked all the blood donors in our country, saying that after needing blood transfusions when going into labour, she also started donating blood.
