A nine-year-old girl who claimed she was abused by her parents was handed back to her alleged abusers by the authorities after no abuse marks were found on her body.

According to Harian Metro, a man found the girl riding a bicycle alone in Taipan, Setia Alam with a backpack at about 4pm on 9 January. He uploaded a video on his Instagram, which has since been removed, where he is seen treating her to a meal at a fast food restaurant.

In the video, the girl claimed that she always got scolded and on that day, she couldn’t stand it and wanted to leave the house. So, her parents allowed her to leave and even accompanied her out to the guardhouse and left her to ride her bicycle alone.

Her parents also allegedly told her that if she got raped, she cannot blame them and they would only make a police report if she goes missing.

Meanwhile, Shah Alam District Deputy Chief of Police, Superintendent Ramsay Anak Embol confirmed the incident and said that at about 6pm, the girl was handed over to the SP Setia Auxiliary Police and taken to the Setia Alam Police Station.

“Preliminary investigations found no trace of abuse on the child’s body. The child was handed back to her parents who were present at the station at 6.45pm,” he said.

He added that the girl’s parents have also lodged a police report on the video that went viral and that the man who made the video would be contacted to assist in the investigation.

However, the man who took the video admitted that he did not know the full truth behind the girl’s allegations.
