Foul smell leads to the discovery of a dead body inside a locked pickup truck in Gombak

According to a report by Berita Harian, the Wangsa Maju District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Lazim Ismail, said that based on a witness, his department is not ruling out the possibility that the vehicle had been at the location for two days before the discovery of the body.

“The body was found by a building supervisor who was carrying out a daily inspection at the bottom of Block C before detecting a suspicious smell. The supervisor then informed the police before a follow-up inspection was carried out by officers and members of the Setapak Police Station and the Criminal Investigation Division, Wangsa Maju District Police Headquarters (IPD),”

“So far, no criminal elements have been found at the scene, but we are still waiting for the autopsy report to be carried out tomorrow at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital,” he said.

The case has been classified as a sudden death

Mohamad Lazim added that, so far, no identification has been found on the deceased, but further investigations are being carried out, including identifying the owner of the vehicle involved.

He also said that, for the initial stage, his department has classified the case as a Sudden Death (SDR).

The police are now asking those who have lost a family member or have information regarding this incident to immediately inform the Wangsa Maju IPD Operations Room at 03-92899222 to assist in the investigation.
