To be away from their natural habitat can be torturous for animals and also cause harm to the environment. Just recently, a few images of cows being tied on the sidewalk of a shop lot in Selayang went viral on social media.

According to the X page @MALAYSIAVIRALLL, the cows were allegedly being reared by foreign workers who work around the area, and the condition of the area was not at its best.

Rubbish and litter were seen on the ground near the cows, making the stench grow stronger as days passed with uncleaned stains on the ground.

The cows also had limited movements with their necks tied to the pillars and were fed with some greens and grass, which were merely left on the sidewalk. The matter was also discussed on Lowyat Group, where some netizens pointed out that it has been happening for quite some time.

Netizens, on the other hand, were also baffled to see such an atrocity and wanted the City Council officers to take immediate action against the foreign workers who seemed not to be following the rules and regulations.

I don’t even dare to go to the Selayang wholesale market because of them. There are so many banks in this area, but I have to go to Sri Gombak,” said a user.

“The authorities are part of the problems by sabotaging the country,” commented another.

“Where is the city council? I see you being strict with the citizens but not with the foreign workers. Are you afraid of them?”

To those who are staying near the area, have you seen anything like this before?
