Over the past few months, a wave of scam calls hit the globe and a woman named Liu has shared her experience online.
In a short video, Liu mentioned that the scammer called her 4 times. The first 2 times, she didn’t pick the call, but the scammer didn’t stop and called the 3rd time. When she answered it, she told the scammer that she didn’t have any money and hung up.
Unfortunately, the scammer didn’t give up and called her for the fourth time. Then she told the scammer,
“I only have $0.25RMB (RM0.16) in my card, what else do you want from me?”
The scammer was shocked and begin to stutter and she continued saying,
“Am I really worth that much for you to call that many times? I only have $0.25RMB (RM0.16) left in my card.”
The scammer then stuttered again and then hung up on her. Liu then mentioned that she’s used to calls like these, but this is the first time where she met a ‘persistent’ scammer.
“I’m used to scam calls, but this is the first time where I got multiple calls from the same number.
Even after telling him off the first time, he was still persistent and called again. I then decided to mess with him.”
Liu mentioned that after the fourth time the scammer finally stopped calling.
This is a gentle reminder to be careful when picking up calls and never disclose any information to strangers.
