A family of four was tragically killed in a five-vehicle collision after two siblings in luxury cars were driving recklessly along Kilometre 27 of Jalan Renggam–Simpang Renggam in Kluang yesterday (1 June).
A dashcam video that has been circulating online shows a BMW and a Mercedes-Benz speeding moments before a devastating crash involving several vehicles.

Details of the crash
In a statement, Kluang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh said investigations found that the BMW 530e was driven by a 22-year-old local man, while a Mercedes-Benz A250 was being driven by his 19-year-old younger brother.
According to the police, both vehicles were believed to have been speeding and driving recklessly before the BMW driver lost control, veered into the opposite lane, and crashed into four oncoming vehicles: a Perodua Alza, a Toyota Vios, a Proton Wira, and another Mercedes-Benz. The BMW then plunged into a ravine on the opposite side of the road.

Casualties and injuries
The victims and injuries were reported as follows:
- BMW 530e: The 22-year-old driver died while being transported to the hospital
- Toyota Vios: A 36-year-old man, his 33-year-old wife, a 73-year-old woman, and a 10-year-old girl were killed at the scene after suffering severe head and body injuries
- Perodua Alza: The 43-year-old driver suffered leg injuries, while two child passengers (aged 11 and seven) sustained head injuries and are currently receiving treatment in the hospital’s Red Zone
- Proton Wira: The 22-year-old driver suffered injuries to his mouth
- The other Mercedes-Benz: The 57-year-old female driver sustained minor chest and facial injuries, while her two passengers were uninjured

Bahrin added that all injured victims were taken to Hospital Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom in Kluang for treatment.
He also stated that the 19-year-old younger brother of the deceased BMW driver, who was driving the first Mercedes-Benz and is believed to have been speeding and driving recklessly alongside the BMW, has been arrested.
The police have seized his Mercedes-Benz A250 to assist with the ongoing investigation. A subsequent urine screening test found him negative for drugs.

The police are seeking a remand order to assist with investigations under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving that endangers other road users. If convicted, the teenager could face up to five years in prison and a fine ranging from RM5,000 to RM15,000.
