Not everything is meant to be shared, especially when it’s for personal use. It’s good to save cost but again, there are certain things that we just have to spend on, especially on our needs.
A woman in China, however, was shocked to learn just how frugal her in-laws can be. In an anonymous post shared in the Facebook group 毒姑九賤婆媳討論區, the woman shared a disgusting experience that she has had ever since she married her husband and started living with her in-laws.
Use, roast, reuse
Once opened and used, a sanitary pad is immediately thrown away. The item is essential when a woman’s “best friend” visits every month, but the woman’s in-law decided to share the essential item to save cost.
“I was told that if there are no blood stains, I should keep it and NOT throw it away.”
So, what’s the in-laws’ practice to “clean” the pad before it’s reused? Here’s when the rice cooker “comes to the rescue.”
“They told me to dry it in the rice cooker to kill the bacteria. When it’s done, they said just put it aside so others can use when they need it.”
All this tedious process, just to save cost on buying new batches of sanitary pads. We truly hope the rice cooker is only used for that purpose and not anything else, at all. Is this their definition of sharing is caring?
Netizens, on the other hand, were baffled to see such SOPs being practiced at home.
“Wait, what? So should you do the same with your kid’s diapers in the future?”
“The one without blood stain, you can toast and reuse it. The one with blood, you can use it for baking. Is that the logic?”
“Wash the used condom, so that their grandfather can reuse it.”
“This is disgusting. I’m just curious, how much can you save by not buying sanitary pads?”
“This is so dirty. You take care, girl.”
We guess this is a reminder that you shouldn’t only be aware of the red flags in your partner but also your partner’s family. How much are you willing to tolerate in terms of lifestyle?
