So can we do more for those battling this pandemic besides staying at home? Well, according to Namewee we can.
One of Malaysia’s most vocal entertainment personalities went the extra mile by donating medical supplies to front liners so that they may be able to work well with no problems. According to an article by the Star online, via a message both in Malay and Mandarin, he revealed that he made arrangements to deliver medical supplies to 10 hospitals located in remote villages and rural towns in the country.
“Thanks to the power of netizens, we have managed to buy a lot of masks, goggles, personal protective clothing (PPE), ready to be distributed to 10 hospitals in rural villages and small towns in Malaysia.
“My aim in showing these pictures (boxes labeled ‘sumbangan ikhlas dari namewee untuk Covid-19’) is so that more and more people will realise that many hospitals in Malaysia are in urgent need of more Covid-19 protective materials and equipment.
“I hope more people will pay attention to this issue! I’m not a rich person, so my small donation is not enough. If kind-hearted souls are willing to offer help and donate generously, it is recommended that you extend your help to rural hospitals due to their lack of access to adequate medical resources. Also, it is best to ship the goods directly to the hospital of your choice,” he said.
He concluded his message by declaring “Malaysia Boleh”. Understanding that the MCO has been tough on many, he expressed his hope to see Malaysia rise again. His efforts received praises from many netizens saying “Thank you for your generous contribution”, “ My kind of idol”, “You will be blessed with eternal peace for your good deed.”
Well sounds like a great deed to me! What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
