Some people believe that even after your death, you’ll come back in another form, especially if you have an “unfinished business” or a promise to keep. A man in China recently believed that his late grandmother “came back” and “attended” his wedding.
The groom’s late grandmother came back in the form of a butterfly.
The butterfly was spotted from afar and the groom got emotional when it landed on his chest, prompting the crowd to cheer and clap. To the groom, Wang, he believed that his grandmother would’ve wanted to attend and give him a big hug.
“I’m sure she would’ve wanted to listen to my heartbeat for the one last time,” Wang added.
“Grandma, if you can come, please do this”
Wang and his grandma who passed away earlier this year, were inseparable. He was raised by her, and Wang recalled that 1 of his late grandmother’s biggest regrets was not being able to see her grandson tying the knot with the love of his life.
Both were well aware that she couldn’t make it to Wang’s wedding and despite knowing his grandmother is not alive anymore, the groom texted her via WeChat and told her something.
“If you can attend my wedding, please show up as a butterfly. If you do, please stay for a while. We all miss you,” Wang cried while telling the guests.
Once he was done with his speech, Wang waited for the butterfly to come nearer. It was as if the butterfly knew where to go, and it immediately landed on Wang’s chest, to his surprise. It was bittersweet for Wang. Happy, excited, fearful – all at once.
“I was happy, but also afraid because I knew that the butterfly would fly away soon, and wouldn’t stay,” Wang explained.
The wedding took place in Hunan, China on May 8, with the bride also crying at the presence of the butterfly.
