Looking for a parking spot in a high-traffic mall is hard enough for normal cars. If you have an electric car, on the other hand, this could be a win-lose situation for charging station parking spots may very well be either super empty or super full.
For one electric vehicle (EV) owner’s case, the EV charging stations at a PJ mall were absolutely full except for one spot that has been chup-ped by a non-electric vehicle.
Sharing with WORLD OF BUZZ, he explained that he had never experienced someone booking the spot like that, for someone else who was on their way.
“This is a first – ‘reserving’ the EV charging spot for his boss. I arrived at the EV charging section in the mall and saw there was one spot left. However, it was blocked by the ICE car so I gave a courtesy honk to indicate my intention to use the charging spot,”
“The driver of the vehicle comes up to me and says something to the effect of ‘I have another car that wants to charge here because the spaces in the other wing is full‘,” he said.
Finding the entire situation to be unjust, he told the person booking the spot that he had gotten there first and that they should all play fair.
“He then walks to his car and proceeds to talk on the phone with his boss (presumably) for what seems to be 5 minutes while I waited as I did in the photo. He eventually reluctantly leaves and gestures to me as though he gifted the spot to me,”
“This guy and his boss are douches. Don’t be douches.”
Considering the fact that chup-ping regular parking spots are illegal at this point, this should very much apply to charging spots as well.
