With the wealth and luxury she has, Dato Seri Vida can afford to dress herself in any way she sees fit. With TikTok’s Asoka Makeup challenge trending recently, the Malaysian entrepreneur joined the crowd by applying cosmetics on her face to look like Asoka.
At the time of writing, the TikTok video of DSV @datoserividaofficial as Asoka (upon many requests) accompanied with Bollywood music has gained a massive 8.6 million views! Social media users had a lot to say in the comment section but there is 1 particular “feedback” that DSV bothered to respond through another TikTok video.
The comment made by local filmmaker and actor, Michael Ang on his TikTok post didn’t sit well with DSV because Micheal said she looked like a Pocong, a supernatural creature in Malay folklore who is wrapped in a shroud and jumps around, with only his face exposed.
“This scared me for a moment. I thought this was a Pocong!” Micheal laughed.
In her TikTok video, DSV wanted an apology from Michael but that was not all. She wanted him to kneel and apologise. Sounds familiar?
DSV slammed her phone onto the table and said what she did was an ART.
“This Asoka trend is an art. I spent hours to do this. I want you to kneel and apologise to the Queen!”
Michael was quick to respond and just last night, on his TikTok video @michaelang38, the filmmaker made it clear that he was not going to indulge DSV’s request to kneel before her. Michael also made sure DSV knew that he said what he said.
“Just accept what people said about you. You did look like a Pocong,” he boldly reminded DSV.
He also told DSV not to post anything if she is not willing to accept anyone’s comment on social media, and he did that while enjoying the salmon skin snacks sold by DSV’s daughter.
You can watch DSV’s transformation into Ahsoka in the video below, and her response to Micheal’s Pocong comment here.
