We’ve shared a handful of viral videos involving mat rempits or illegal street racers in Malaysia previously, with most of them inevitably ending with them crashing their motorbikes.
This latest viral video follows the same trend but while the end is the same, the cause of the crash is rather perplexing and mysterious.
As shared by @Abudalsagoff on Twitter, the 36-second video shows a group of bikers riding together on an unidentified road.
However, near the halfway point of the video, one mat rempit riding in front of the person who was recording suddenly had his motorcycle flip up multiple metres off the ground and subsequently crash to the ground.
The whole incident happened within just a couple of seconds to the shock of the other riders. The motorcyclist who the person that was recording was riding with can be seen with a distressed look on his face after avoiding the crash while he looked back to see the aftermath of the incident.

In the replies to the video, many netizens were perplexed as to what had actually transpired and gave their own take as to how the motorcycle ended up flipping and crashing.
The caption on the video jokingly said that a previous comment claimed that the motorcycle crashed because the man had hit a ghost. One reply expanded on the joke, claiming that this would be a perfect headline for the paranormal magazine Mastika.
Meanwhile, one commenter criticised the mat rempit group for not reacting to the incident and just leaving their crashed friend behind without urgently helping him.
A few commenters issued a plausible cause to the incident, saying that a closer look at the video showed that the motorcycle’s front tyre fell off while riding and when it hit the rear tyre, the vehicle ended up flipping. Okay, that sounds logical!
The aftermath of the incident or when and where it was recorded is unknown, but we hope that the motorcyclist is okay!
