A parent would do anything in order to make sure their children are safe and fed, including offering their shoes as payment for food items.

One father took to social media with a plea that broke many hearts.

According to a report by Solopos, an Indonesian man had offered his shoes in exchange for a pack of milk for his one-year-old.

“I’m sorry, I’m not selling. I’m just looking for barter trade. If anyone is interested in leather shoes, size 41, I asked to be bartered with a Dancow milk 1+1 kg pack. I’m sorry, don’t ask for the price, I don’t want to see, just exchange,” the father shared.

The post caught the attention of Kombes Pol Ade Safri Simanjuntak, the Solo (Surakarta) Police Chief who ordered his staff to track the father down.

“The owner of the account is named Ari Prasetyo, a resident of Mutihan, Laweyan, Solo. He has three children. The eldest child is 18-years-old. Every day, Ari works as a cleaning service,” shared a staff member, on behalf of the Police Chief.

They found out that the man only offered his shoes because he did not have money to purchase the milk after he had an accident that caused his motorcycle to be damaged.

“His money was used to repair the vehicle. At this time, we have given milk to the youngest daughter,” the staff member added.

It is truly amazing to see how helpful and kind the Indonesian police are to their people. We genuinely hope that their act of kindness will help motivate the father to continue to fight for a livelihood for his children.
