One thing a lot of Malaysians must’ve missed if of course lepak sessions at the local mamak. Well, worry no more! In his latest press conference, Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri said that your beloved mamaks will now be allowed to open till 12am, an additional two hours from the before ruling.

Not only mamak but other restaurants have also been allowed to open their opening hours. Besides that, convenience stores can also enjoy this perk.

However, the minister reminded that despite the extended hours, these establishments must obey the required SOPs. Failure to do so will result in their business being closed down.

It’s a far cry from the 24-hour opening we’re used to but hey, it’s still something. What do you think of this new rule? Let us know in the comments section!
