Individuals positive with the COvid-19 virus will be isolated from other voters to avoid the risk of contagion during the 15th General Elections (GE15).
Based on a report by Astro Awani, Deputy Chairman of the Election Commission (SPR) Dr Azmi Sharom shared that apart from that, SPR will also ensure that the voting process for Covid-19 positive patients at polling centers throughout the country will be done quickly.
Additionally, he said that those who are positive with Covid-19 should inform Ministry of Health (KKM) officials about their health status before coming to the polling station.
“They (KKM) will isolate (Covid-19) positive voters and you will vote quickly and we will also isolate you from other voters,” he shared.
Earlier, Director General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah informed that Covid-19 positive individuals must wear face masks when voting while others are encouraged to do the same. Covid-19 positive patients are also not allowed to ride in public vehicles to polling stations, including e-hailing vehicles.
