A fortune teller is someone who is believed to have the ability to foresee future events. So this begged the question – why didn’t he see this coming?

On 17 May, an 87-year-old fortune teller was stabbed to death in broad daylight. The gruesome incident took place in Yunan, China.

According to Sin Chew, the deceased fortune teller named Toh, provided his service at a wet market in Yongping county and a 39-year-old suspect was one of the customers who had paid for his service before.

At 1.50pm on Wednesday, the suspect went back to look for Toh because his ‘predicted future’ was far from satisfactory. I guess the suspect must have been given the wrong fate.

The enraged suspect who was reported to be drunk, whipped out a knife and started attacking Toh and a 73-year-old man who was chatting with him, all because of the not-so-accurate prediction.

According to the witness who called for police, he said:

“I was eating noodles at the entrance of the wet market and then I saw a murder happening nearby. Two men were attacked and killed.”

After receiving the urgent call, police rushed to the scene and apprehended the suspect. The paramedics tried to resuscitate Toh and the other old man but failed. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

This shocking murder has garnered the attention of the local government and the investigation is still ongoing.

I hope this man never gets handed a fortune cookie too!
