It’s Day 15 of the Movement Control Order and while compliance rate has increased, unfortunately, more people are getting arrested due to their stubbornness. Some people seem to think that the police are conducting roadblock for no apparent reasons.

However, what this man did when he got arrested for not obeying the MCO definitely took it too far.

A man lied saying that he attended the tabligh event at the Seri Petaling Mosque and was likely to be infected. Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof told The Star. A team on patrol in Balakong on Monday (March 30) spotted the man loitering around a condominium at around 2am.

When the police personnel told him to go back, he refused to listen thus leading to the police arresting him and bringing him to the Kajang police headquarters CID office for further action. During the interrogation process, he told the investigators that he was one of the tabligh participants. This led to some panic and the man was immediately isolated. Health Ministry officials arrived to disinfect the office and the man’s relatives were interviewed.

“When our personnel spoke to his relatives and friends, they all told us that the suspect was not a participant at the tabligh. We then interrogated the suspect again, and he finally confessed that he lied to avoid being remanded.”

HOW SELFISH!

The police are currently investigating him for obstructing civil servants from dispensing their duties and under Section 7(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Rules. The suspect is also being investigated for giving false statements to public servants.

The fact that someone could be so foolish and irresponsible is beyond us. Please remember everyone, the police and military are risking their lives every day doing roadblocks for OUR safety. The least we can do is STAY HOME and not blatantly lie to create unnecessary panic.
